I am a partner in KingBee™ New Zealand with Chuck Mawer. My family and I have had German Shepherds all of our lives and we have had many of them.

They are loyal animals and provide me with much fun, exercise and happiness.

I recall back in 1992 when I bought my home that all the houses along my street were regularly burgled. I live on the edge of town and over my back fence are paddocks with sheep & cattle. This provided an easy entrance to the houses down my street for the burglars. The burglaries stopped when I moved in as my two dogs let the burglars know not to come near.  I was sorry for the neighbours having to put up with so much noise, however no one complained as they made our area safe by barking at strangers who passed by.

Let me introduce my business partner, Chuck Mawer MA (Media Studies & Communications), a security professional with many years experience in the security industry, who rose through the ranks to become Supervisor of one of the most sophisticated and secure monitoring facilities in Australasia.

Over that time Chuck has experienced a full range of attempts by criminals to get past a wide variety of security systems. As he has found, one constant stands out: trained Guard dogs with their ability to see, hear, smell, and feel an intruder’s presence have an advantage over even some of the more technically advanced systems. Dogs have an excellent sense for danger, and they have been known to warn against and save families from harmful situations. One of those dangers, and this is the key to Guard dog CD, is sensing suspicious activity in your own or a neighbouring yard. This ability for a dog to sense danger at a distance is well known and feared by criminals.

Prince– The KING of security!!

“Prince” came to David, when he was 2 years old and it is Prince who features on the Guard dog CD. It is no idle boast that not once in that time has there been a breach of security under his watchful eye, he is a Guard dog in the peak of his effectiveness.

He is five years old and is now a well-behaved dog. David rescued him from animal control for unsociable behaviour. He was raised by a family with seven children around the corner. All Prince needed was to learn new skills and know his place in the pack-order at home with David and his female German Shepherd, Topaz.

He is a typical male dog, he scratches the lawn to bits and digs the odd hole!! It is amazing what you will put up with when your dog is part of the family. David has to put up with his vices, after all he is a lovely pet. For the couple of hours a night he is allowed inside the house he’s happy to just be your footstool. A good long pat on the head, a bone, any kind of food (a healthy appetite!) and he’s a happy boy.

We are pleased to share his guarding skills with you. Why should you be frightened of strangers outside your home? You can be confident that GuardDogCD will deter strangers and send a message that they should leave your property if  they are up to no good.

We know this through studying the behaviour of passers-by when Prince is serving them a warning. In fact my neighbours often get up and look in the middle of the night, and it is always humans that are the cause of his alert barking.

A few years ago now, a 65 year old lady across the road got up at 1 am in the morning to see what my dog was barking at. As she walked past her spare bedroom there was a large, drunk man trying to climb in her window. She screamed and he took off. The Police caught him down the street! You do have to ask yourself what may have been without that warning the dog sent?
